About
52 year old Process Automatuin Control Systems engineer with interests of Sim racing and IRL Formula 1. If there's a clash IRL Formula 1 wins.
I live 40 miles north of Silverstone, 20 miles south of Donington and a short bike ride from Mallory Park. Motorsport was in my blood from the start.
My racing life started with RC model car racing through my early 20s, moving on to a dabble with RC helicopters. So I guess I have fair degree of hand eye coordination.
I moved on to "turn up and drive" karting with my RC mates and found I had a bit of a knack for it.
I invested in a two stroke TKM kart and raced for 1 year in the RAC Midlands championship as kart #38 (hence my in game car number) Too heavy to be competitive. My own weight was close to the kart/driver minimum weight, so at least the post race weigh in was easy, only I had to get onto the scales, the marshalls just waved me on.
In my Late 20s I grew up a little and married my lovely wife and had two great kids, who have now gone off to university.
I picked up online racing in 2013. I’ve done 7 years of F1 20xx league racing with Apex Online Racing, a couple of seasons on the race stewards panel and split co-ordinator for a season.
Struggling to be competitive with those yoof and the poor F1 game physics vs ACC and other more realistic sim (and still no VR). So I thought I'd have a change of career. There is plenty of fun after Formula 1.
