INTERVIEW WITH OLLY LINORTNER



Please introduce yourself, tell us about you (age, nationality, profession) and how you became a simracer


Hi all , Olly here im 57 yrs old and I come from the land down under , and I'm a truck driver , yeah those big things ,26 metres long and 65 tonne, how I became a sim racer , boredom I guess .


How long have you played ACC ?


14 months


Tell us how the idea of the eSeniors came to you ?


I started looking for a group so that I didn't have to race in the public lobbies


How was it racing in the Eseniors Championship ?


I love this group , made some friends along the way and probably pissed a few off , sorry to those who I did and would like to change that.


How many hours did you spend preparing yourself for a Race, and why is it important ?


This varies from race to race , depending how busy work is , but generally i like to have somewhere from 6 to 8 hrs per track , its important to me because I like to be comfortable with my setup and track conditions.


What kind of equipment do you use (wheel, pedals, PC, screen, etc) ?


I run a Fanatec DD1 with a BMW GT2 wheel , Heusinkveld pedals(thanks steff), with vr (samsung odessey), PC oh shit , intel i7-11700k,32gb ram with a 3080 gpu , with me parking my butt in a Playseat Trophy (thanks J)


Do you buy setups or do you setup your car alone ?


Both , generally I adapt my setup to suit, and from from a few aliens I know ,Gunthar and Steve


What makes you faster than the rest?


The only thing that is faster than the rest is the rate at which I flap my gums ,lol (talk), other than that I'm just of average pace.


What is you favorite car and why ?


At the moment I'm enjoying the Lexus , I like the way it drives


What is you favorite circuit (s) and why ?


I must admit I really enjoy Paul Ricard ;-)


Who are your childhood racing heroes ?


Damn , the list is long , Allan Jones, Lauda ,Prost , Senna ,Allan Moffat , Aj Foyt ,


What is the best advice you would to give to a simracer ?


Just race and have fun , don't take it to seriously


Are you satisfied with the Eseniors organization, and do you have suggestions to help bring a higher level of competition ?


Yep sure am , just keep doing what you're doing and keep evolving .


And finally, the most important question...how many speeding tickets have you accumulated to date ?
